Mental Health & Wellness

While I work with most mental health concerns, I have a special interest in working with individuals experiencing anxiety and panic. My approach is to assist clients in changing the relationship with their anxiety so that it becomes workable and they are able to live a value directed life. Whether it’s people working in high-pressure professions, students, or new moms, I love helping people work through their fear and anxiety in order to live a healthy and full life.

I also work with individuals across life stages who are experiencing depression, grief, mood disorders, self-worth issues, trauma, and processing past abuse. My approach is rooted in a Christian worldview that honors the dignity and inherent worth of all people. I respect and work with clients of all faiths and backgrounds. Please see my Frequently Asked Questions for additional information about how I work with clients.

Life Transitions

Transition can be an exciting time full of expectation and anticipation, but also a time that brings loneliness, isolation, and loss. Sometimes this loss is a loss of identity, a loss of purpose, or the loss of a person/community. Often the loss of one thing is happening at the same time as the beginning of something new. These changes can bring discomfort and uncertainty, and at times the loss of control can be overwhelming.

I walk with clients through these changes and encourage them to feel the full range of emotions needed to move through the transition. My approach is to work with individuals to normalize feelings, accept the change, and cultivate hope for the future. Through our work together, I offer clients space to hold both the joy and sadness; excitement and fear of transitions.

Examples of significant transitions include birth, marriage, career change, or regional and international relocations to or from the mission field or military deployment. Re-discovering community, culture, and a sense of home can be challenging. Amidst shifts in culture and life-stages, many adults find themselves examining all or part of their spiritual and faith beliefs. I provide clients a place to process the emotions, questions, doubts, and desires that can lead to a renewed sense of grounding, hope, and connection in their relationships and faith journeys.

Students & Professionals

Whether it is the experience of being a student, beginning a career, changing fields, or leaving the workforce, there are times in life when individuals need help navigating the expectations, stress, and balance between life and work. I have experience working with college students and professionals, providing career counseling and offering space to process the stress and challenges surrounding career transitions.

I offer vocational and career counseling to assist clients in finding direction and discovering how their personality can meaningfully guide how they approach their work.

Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, & Adjustment

Having my own lived experience of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum adjustment, I understand the complexities of new motherhood. In addition to making space for a new person--both emotionally and physically--this season brings new roles and changes of identity. I work with clients across the seasons of pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help new mothers lean into uncomfortable and complex emotions, while living value-directed lives. Instead of fighting feelings, we make room for them and learn new ways of relating to them while also learning new ways of connecting with those around us.
